Definition: Diagnostic Procedure

Diagnostic procedure is the process that the health care provider goes through to make a decision as to what the problem is. The diagnostic is done with x-rays, lab tests, study models and any other means that are available to the doctor to help him or her make an accurate diagnosis, or evaluation of the situation, so that he or she may come up with a treatment plan that will resolve the health care problem that is present at the time of diagnosis.
