Definition: Alveoloplasty

Alveoloplasty is the recontouring of the alveolar bone. Alveoloplasty is a surgical procedure to recontour the ridges usually to get a stable foundation upon which a denture will sit. This procedure is sometimes necessary so that the prosthesis (denture) is as stable as possible in the chewing process.
